It's been a while since I've been here last, and i thought it fit to change that. So, with no further ado, here are all the musical news from this last week.
After realizing that noteflight only lets me save ten scores at a time,  I needed to create another account where I would work on new projects without deleting the old ones. Because of my tendency to forget which username goes with what password, I simply named the new account 'shrimpy1'. To check out my latest (or all my finished stuff), just head on over to noteflight and create an account. It's free, and really easy to navigate around the site, not to mention how simple it is to write music. I always told my grandmother, who taught me piano for two, three years, that if I ever composed anything, it would be all in my head, because I was too lazy to actually write it all down. Well, a good friend of mine introduced me to noteflight, and i was hooked. When/if you visit my page, you'll see how being lazy and only writing songs in my head worked out. The next biggest news is that I finally quit doing arranging transformers. I did the full arrival to earth (arrival to earth, full song for piano) and quit. In lack of musical projects, I started going crazy, and decided to arrange a couple acapella songs. the first one? Mad World, by Gary Jules. (Mad World, acapella) the second one I quit, and instead I started doing bits and pieces af James Cameron's Avatar. I got hooked. The soundtrack itself is not only a masterpiece, but there are so many different layers doing so many different things, it's hard  to hear them all, specially during the choirs. But I love challenges, and with the attitude that usually gets me into trouble, or hurt, or both, I told myself  'Challenge Accepted!' Personally, I don't think it's too bad for now, but here is what I have so far. It kinda exloded my brain for while, so I went back a couple months in my music, and decided to finally write the 'How to train your dragon' suite i arranged a while back. It's coming along, and here it is. Along with all these, I started arranging 'kiss the girl' acapella, mostly as sung by Rockapella. I've only done a few measures, but what I have so far is enough to be recognizable. Aaaaaand yesterday I started a medley of three hymns, come thou fount of every blessing, I believe in Christ, and a poor wayfaring man of grief. Of course, it's one of those that got put together on a piano, and no music writing software is going to capture the emotion behind it, but here it is for your listening pleasure. that's all for now, folks.

So, it's been a while since I have done any blogging, or online posting of any sort, except for sheet music and because of a conversation with a good friend, I decided it's time i start my own. To all those curious minds out there, this conversation involved writing music, being famous and doing what you like for a living. Considering I LOVE music, and couldn't live without it, I'm keeping this place as a music diary. so, to start right, here is a link to my latest sheet music. (little orange and black play button on bottom left.)

I have been going at it for the past week or so, and I think it's pretty accurate. I mean, not like the one from 'How to Train Your Dragon', which I spent over two months writing. (speaking of which, I gotta finish writing the music down, it's still only in  my head) But alas, all great things come to an end, and my time with transformers is done. The soundtrack is plenty repetitive, and from what i can her, there are only three themes in there, either major or minor keys, making six themes all together. Definitely not enough for a medley. So, now I'm stuck as where to turn. Mad World acapella (the one by Gary Jules, thank you Ben for showing it to me :D ) is almost done, and the Harry Potter/Super Mario medley for a marimba is well on its way to being completed. So close, in fact, that The Marimba Girls (Joe and Melissa) asked me yesterday for the harry potter part. It took forever to write, (thank you, great ears!) but i have most notes in there.

There you go. That's just the Hedwig's theme, no Super Mario in there. Yet. For a first post, I think this will suffice. But do not fear, my readers, because more is to come. Especially if that 'more to come' is a request from you. i do arrange for most instruments, and anything from techno,  done skrillex and tron soundtrack before, to original works, did my own version of waterfall by John Schmidt once pon a time. So, any requests, comment down at the bottom, and I'll do my best.
